With our groundbreaking satellite 5G constellation, OQ Technology is a global leader in the domain of IoT communication connectivity and associated services. We are a venture capital-backed company with a successful track record of satellite launches and the first company in the world to disrupt the telecommunications industry by merging cellular 5G with satellites.

Our technology has massive implications for the Oil & Gas, Maritime, Industry 4.0, and Transport sectors, particularly in the management and tracking of assets in remote and rural areas and in extending 5G coverage through non-terrestrial networks.

As our wireless technologies continue to evolve and earn multiple awards, with funding for the next phase secured and strong commercial traction demonstrated, we are now looking to onboard an experienced IT Systems & Cloud Infrastructure Administrator to strengthen and manage our cloud-first IT infrastructure.

In this role, you will be responsible for managing and supporting our modern IT environment across Microsoft 365/Azure, AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), and virtualization platforms, ensuring the security, availability, scalability, and reliability of our systems. You will play a key role in maintaining a secure, resilient, and well-documented infrastructure, driving infrastructure modernization initiatives, supporting users across the organization, and enabling the continued growth and success of OQ Technology.

Job Responsibilities

  • Administer and support all types of endpoints (Windows, Mac, Linux, and mobile) across the organization.
  • Manage and support Microsoft Azure cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Entra ID, conditional access, backups, and monitoring.
  • Manage identity, access, and device management (Entra ID, Intune, MDM).
  • Support secure collaboration tools (Microsoft 365, file sharing, conferencing), SharePoint Online administration, and licensing management (including CSP/NCE transitions).
  • Maintain and optimize virtualization platforms (Proxmox or other hypervisors) and containerized environments where applicable.
  • Manage and support AWS infrastructure, including provisioning, monitoring, and maintaining EC2 instances and related resources.
  • Handle user and access management on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Support and maintain secure remote access (OpenVPN, bastion hosts, jump servers) and general network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, VLANs, routing).
  • Support system availability, performance, patching, and lifecycle management across cloud platforms.
  • Manage backup and disaster recovery operations using Veeam, ensuring reliable backup jobs, retention policies, and recovery testing.
  • Maintain and support self-hosted or cloud-based GitHub/GitLab instances, including user access, repository administration, and general upkeep.
  • Apply security-by-design principles across all IT systems; support compliance with relevant standards (e.g. ISO 27001) and internal security policies.
  • Assist with vulnerability management, patching, audits, and risk assessments.
  • Participate in infrastructure planning, upgrades, and modernization initiatives.
  • Troubleshoot complex system and virtualization issues across cloud environments.
  • Provide Level 2/3 escalation support for the helpdesk team and end users.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, architectures, and operational standards.
  • Manage IT-related purchases (hardware, software licenses, cloud credits) in collaboration with procurement, and track asset lifecycle to optimize spend.
  • Develop working knowledge of Linux systems and assist with Linux-based workloads as needed.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience as a Systems Administrator or in a comparable IT infrastructure/operations role in a corporate environment.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Azure/Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID, SharePoint Admin Center, conditional access, licensing).
  • Solid understanding of virtualization concepts (Proxmox, Hyper-V, or similar).
  • Experience managing AWS resources (EC2 instances and related services); familiarity with GCP user/access management is a plus.
  • Solid networking knowledge, including OpenVPN administration, switches, firewalls, VLANs, and routing (TCP/IP).
  • Experience with backup, disaster recovery, and system monitoring solutions (Veeam experience is a strong plus).
  • Comfortable working with enterprise ticketing systems (e.g. Jira, ServiceNow, Zendesk) for incident and request management.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a preference for clear, GUI-driven administration tools where practical.
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate clearly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent documentation skills — comfortable producing clear operational guides and handover documentation.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting or administering Linux systems, or strong willingness to learn.
  • Familiarity with scripting and automation (PowerShell, Bash, or comparable) as a complement to GUI-based administration.
  • Exposure to containerization (Docker) and infrastructure automation tools (Ansible, Terraform).
  • Familiarity with maintaining GitHub/GitLab instances (user management, repository administration).
  • Experience working within an international organization, comfortable navigating diverse cultures and multiple time zones.
  • Relevant certifications (Microsoft, Azure) are a plus.
